Dr. Ashok K. Vaid has the unique distinction of performing the first 25 bone marrow transplants in any private sector hospital in North India. He has established himself as a pioneering figure in the field of bone marrow transplants. He is presently the Chairman at Medanta, and has been the head of the department of medical oncology in Artemis Institute, a senior consultant and coordinator of medical oncology at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, a medical oncologist and lecturer at Government Medical College, Jammu.
